For next Monday read the introduction and chapters one and two.
One of my favorite Bible stories is the parable of the prodigal Son. I like how the story shows a father who goes out to both sons to welcoming them to the party. I think its a story about God's love welcoming us to the party of Grace. Luke 15
ReplyDeletei loooooove the story of the exodus. as I've been in seminary, I've found such a depth and richness there beyond what I ever imagined before, and it has been a place that has given me life lately
ReplyDeleteAh good one. It takes a lot of faith even to leave the places of bondage and follow the mystery of God.
DeleteI have always loved the story of Ruth and Naomi. It speaks to family and love across generations. These two women are survivors through God. KnitterL
ReplyDeleteYes! Ruth is a powerful story of love reaching beyond and giving hope!
DeleteOne of my favorite parts of the Bible is the Creation Story in Genesis 1. For me, it is a reminder to see God in the world around me and how God is continually creating something out of nothing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one! It is good to remember that God is still creating and making good things.
DeleteMy favorite is when David is being chased by Saul and show should respect and restraint.
ReplyDeleteGreat story! We could all learn something from David's show of respect and restraint.
DeleteMy favorite is the story of Joseph's life. There were many times when he could lost his faith, but he always knew that God was with him through all the dark times. A good example for us today.
ReplyDeleteYes! i liked that He was a dreamer and had a snazzy coat :)
DeleteMy favorite story is the story of Lazarus and the Rich man .That in life the rich man had an opportunity to do good to the poor man Lazarus but he did not. He lived a wasted life
DeleteBoth died and the sad and surprising thing was that the rich man became a prayer warrior in the grave.
This story reminds me how many people as long as they are comfortable, happy and everything is running smoothly they never pray, go to church, help those in need etc. They only pray when they get into trouble. They do not maximize their chance to do good and to have a relationship with God.
Reminds me to walk humbly before the,to give me Grace to do good in the land of the living because hellfire is real and it is scary
That's a great perspective Margaret. I haven't thought of this story that way before. Thank you for sharing.
DeleteSorry Pastor ,I forgot to put my email address on my comments above
